Beyond the Basics: Knit a Spring/Summer Cowl - 3 sessions, Wednesdays, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Ready to expand your knitting skills? This three-part series is perfect for beginners who have mastered the knit and purl stitches and are eager to learn more. You'll build confidence with new techniques while working on a light and stylish spring/summer cowl—a perfect accessory for breezy days and cool evenings!
What You’ll Learn: Provisional cast-on, joining/knitting in the round, changing colors, increases, decreases, binding off
Skill Level: Advanced beginner. Must be able to do knit & purl stitches. Experience in casting on a plus, but will review.
Class 1: Cast on, cowl construction
In this class we’ll go over the pattern and how the cowl is constructed, learn the provisional cast on and how to join/knit in the round
Class 2: Continue with cowl knitting
In class 2 we’ll learn how to change yarn colors and a variety of increase & decrease stitches.
Class 3: Binding off and finishing your cowl
Class 3 will show how to bind off from a provisional cast-on and finishing work (weaving in ends, blocking).

Yarn:
150 yards worsted weight yarn in main color
100 yards worsted weight yarn in contrast color
Small amount of scrap yarn
Needles: US 4 - US 6 (3.5 mm) 24” circular needle
Notions: (all available for purchase at The Creative Knot)
Stitch markers,Tapestry/Darning needle to finish
We ask that all yarn for classes be purchased in the shop. 10% discount will be applied. Materials can be purchased at the shop prior to class.
